[the deflections keep coming. he's incredibly fast, even wounded, both in his footwork and his sword maneuvering. what he had told fuu and mugen at the campfire about training hadn't been wrong.
he'd spent his time doing noting but training, and it shows. he swings before he thinks about swinging.
in the snow, he jumps back and levels up the sword, his labored breathing blooming as fog in the cold air. he isn't sure what happened to his glasses in the midst of the back-and-forth, or the band for his hair. the pause isn't very long, and then he takes off directly at mugen.
or - well, something like that. this is exhilarating - a fair match, not because either of them are necessarily playing fair but because jin matches him in speed and skill. he's already tiring, but now that he's here he refuses to let jin win. his hair is a disheveled mess, there's a few slices through his sweater, and he's in the zone.
which is why there's a pause as mugen looks at ryan, and then away from ryan and sprints across the snow to meet jin's rush forward.
[it's unfortunate that he lost the glasses or ryan would really be dying between that and his hair being down. anyway. he's ignored by them both, and watches as they just yeet at each other once more... what is their problem! this isn't the time for whatever the hell their issue is!
and maybe that's not his business, but the way they're fighting looks like more than sparring, and it's not something he particularly enjoys seeing. so he moves after them once more, trying to make a grab for whichever of them is closer.]

jin never expected ryan to try to get between two fighting dudes, but that is because he is a moron who thinks only fuu would do something so stupid.

there's a long, stunned silence from him. look, it's one thing to kill people attacking you, but another entirely to have collateral? he glances at mugen like ?? and then at ryan. no... his roommie... he had been nice...]
[ don't look at him like that!! it's not mugen's fault he ran in front of mugen's sword!!
but the he helped me gets a pause, and mugen doesn't quite... frown, but it's a close thing. he sighs, and crouches down next to jin, scrubbing at his face. ]
Dunno. [ he glances at jin. ] Move him somewhere? Hey, but why does he look dead, though, is that how it works in Yomi?
[he also frowns, but he's usually always frowning anyway. mostly. carefully, he shifts enough to wipe his blade on his pants before sheathing it again at his waist.]
I've never been to the spirit world, so I don't know.
